About the movie TIRZA
Tirza, the eponymous bestseller by Arnon Grunberg, tells the story of Jorgen Hofmeester (played by Gijs Scholten van Aschat), a divorced father of two daughters who seemingly has everything under control. In reality, he just lost all control, even over his youngest daughter Tirza (Sylvia Hoeks).
A few days after Tirza and her boyfriend Choukie are off for a trip to Namibia, her father has still not heard from them. He leaves for the African desert country to find his daughter and meets Kaisa, who follows him in his determined quest. Together with Kaisa Jorgen discovers what has happened to Tirza, which turns out to be a terrifying fate he could have foreseen, even in his worst nightmares ...
The movie Tirza is the opening film of the 30th edition of the Dutch film festival, held from September 22 to October 1 in Utrecht.

About the Book
Arnon Grunberg's novel Tirza won the Libris Literature Prize in 2007 and was nominated for several leading dutch prizes. The novel sold more than 300,000 copies and was published in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Turkey, Italy, Czech Republic, Greece and France.
